Canine Specialist Services International is contracted by the African Wildlife Foundation, to coordinate their canines for conservation program. The program focuses on training dogs and handlers to detect illicit wildlife products such as Ivory and Rhino horn at ports, airports and borders across Africa. The aim is to cut off certain smuggling routes and do our bit to reduce the trade in Ivory and Rhino horn. 33,000 elephants are being killed every year and we all need to do something to help. The company sources dogs in Europe and then has them trained by specialist training organisations in the regions where they work. The handlers are also trained in the region and then deployed to work.

We work with partners in the region that have the experience and expertise in training our dogs and handlers as well as the local knowledge that ensures that the teams are ready to do their work.
